In European universities, students are not required to attend classes. In fact, professors in Germany generally do not know the names of students enrolled in their courses. In the United Stated, however, students are required to attend all classes and may be penalized if they do not. Furthermore, in the European system, student usually take just one comprehensive examination at the end of their entire four or five years study. In the North American system, on the other hand, students usually have numerous quizzzes, tests, and homework assignments, and they almost always have to take a final examination in each course at the end of each semester.

Gold, a precious metal, is prized for two important characteristics. First of all, gold has a lustrous beauty that is resistant to corrosion. For example, a Macedonian coin remains as unternished today as the day it was made 25 centuries ago. Another important characteristic of gold is its usefulness to industry and science. For many years, it has been used in hundreds of industrial applications, such as photography and dentistry. The most recent use of gold is in astronauts’ suits.
